Choosing a Korean university is not only about school name. Myanmar students should compare major fit, language track, tuition, scholarship, location, housing, admission documents, graduation rules, and future plans before applying.

한국 대학 선택은 학교 이름만 보고 결정할 일이 아닙니다. 미얀마 학생은 지원 전 전공 적합성, 수업 언어, 등록금, 장학금, 지역, 숙소, 입학 서류, 졸업 요건과 향후 계획을 함께 비교해야 합니다.

1 အရင်သိထားရမည့်အချက်များ

  • Major fit comes first. A famous school is not useful if the major, curriculum, or graduation rule does not match your goal.
  • Language track matters. Korean-taught programs may need TOPIK, while English-taught programs may need English scores or still recommend Korean ability for daily life.
  • Total cost matters more than tuition alone. Compare tuition, admission fee, dormitory, housing deposit, food, transport, insurance, and first-month setup cost.
  • Scholarship rules can be different by school, major, semester, GPA, language score, and available budget. Do not assume the same scholarship continues every semester.
  • Location changes your daily life. Seoul, nearby cities, and regional areas can have different rent, part-time options, transport, and living style.
  • Future plan matters. If you want work, graduate school, long-term stay, or return to Myanmar, check how the major and school support that path.
  • If your goal is E-7-M after studying in Korea, school name alone is not enough. You must check whether the exact college department is currently designated for the E-7-M/K-CORE route, whether the major is manufacturing-related, and whether you can realistically reach the Korean-language level and job conditions later.
  • 전공 적합성이 먼저입니다. 유명한 학교라도 전공, 커리큘럼 또는 졸업 요건이 본인 목표와 맞지 않으면 좋은 선택이 아닐 수 있습니다.
  • 수업 언어가 중요합니다. 한국어 과정은 TOPIK이 필요할 수 있고, 영어 과정은 영어 성적이 필요하거나 일상생활을 위해 한국어가 여전히 도움이 될 수 있습니다.

  2. Choose the major before choosing the school name. Read the curriculum and check whether the classes match what you want to study.
  3. Check the language track. If the program is Korean-taught, confirm TOPIK or Korean requirement. If it is English-taught, confirm accepted English proof and whether Korean is still needed later.
  4. Calculate the full budget for at least the first semester, including tuition, dormitory or rent, deposit, food, transport, insurance, phone, and emergency money.
  5. Read the scholarship rule carefully. Check whether it applies only to the first semester, whether GPA is needed to keep it, and whether language score can improve your chance.
  6. Compare location and daily life. Check housing, transport, part-time possibility, Myanmar community, and whether you can realistically live there.
  7. Make a shortlist of three to five schools and compare them side by side before paying application fees.
  8. Before submitting documents, confirm the latest requirements with the university international office or official admission notice.

  • Do not choose a university only because the name sounds famous
  • Do not choose only because someone on social media said it is easy to enter
  • Do not trust scholarship promises unless they are written in the official school notice
  • Do not ignore graduation rules, GPA rules, language requirements, or major-change limits
  • Do not apply without checking whether your documents can be prepared before the deadline
  • Avoid fake admission, fake bank statement, fake documents, guaranteed visa, or any shortcut that can create immigration problems
